Biography

Hi, I am Digvijay. I am currently working as a Software Engineer II at Microsoft Corporation in Azure SQL Control Plane Development group. Joining Microsoft has been a dream come true, and I am excited to work with an exceptional group of people, contributing to innovative solutions and the company’s impactful projects.

I love exploring emerging technologies and identifying promising trends in research and development. My study primarily focuses on the development of computational methodologies for data-intensive science, and I am ready to leverage my knowledge and skills in the professional arena by solving challenging problems and creating high-quality products.

Previously, I served as a Software Developer and development team lead for Intel’s Adaptive Manufacturing system, a platform used by over 20K process engineers across Intel factories worldwide. I designed and implemented an advanced equipment recipe management and material handling system using C# on a multi-broker Kafka Cluster on Kubernetes, streamlining operations across Intel fabs. My work focused on developing next-generation automation systems for semiconductor factory processes, database applications, and data analytics.

I received my Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 2021 and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pune, India, where I was honored with The Best Outgoing Student Award and a Gold Medal, presented by Dr. R. Mashelkar, one of India’s pioneering scientists, for my exceptional academic performance.

  • Identify and visualize outliers by analyzing electronic health records and prescriptions using Natural Language Processing.

Worked as a software development engineering intern in AWS Security team who own responsibility of developing security checks for services and accounts under AppSec review.

  • Designed a vulnerability assessment tool in Python to auto generate a threat model for services and accounts under review.
  • Created security check analyzers for SQS and DynamoDB to determine possible threats and mitigations for AWS services used by the account.
  • Implemented Canary tests and alarms in Java to monitor performance of data sources required in threat modeling.

Software Developer Analyst

Worked as a Data Analyst for for Peptide Sequence Analysis where I designed several Python modules to discover and analyze FASTA sequence patterns. Spectrometer data at CSIR Pune and datasets from InterPro and Pfam databases were included in building a robust database for CSIR researchers.

  • Designed Python modules to analyze and find similarity in FASTA sequence patterns for specific protein families.
  • Invented an ideal approach of patterns mining using Huffman Tree and data compression using Prime numbers that increased model efficiency by 17%.
  • Gathered data from Spectrometer hosted at CSIR and datasets from Pfam and InterPro for generating a knowledge database.
  • Built database is readily consumed by researchers and experimentalists to gain insights of medically relevant motifs.
  • Used MapReduce programming model using PySpark and graph results are generated using Biopython.

I started my work as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) developer where I developed Web API in Asp.Net to integrate several ERP modules over Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). I also developed an Android application using Xamarin framework as per the back-end requirement of C#.

  • Created software-oriented architecture using Asp.Net Rest API for integrating ERP modules of MIS, Finance and E-Procurement as part of an 8-member team.
  • Produced an Android application in Xamarin with embedded ERP modules for remote use by scientists.

Projects


Designed and developed a population based algorithm in Python that proposes software package structure that reduces low cohesion and high coupling while improving Software Maintainability and Reusability. Created a dashboard using Plotly for comparing results of two different methods, Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithm.

Developed TCP-IP based Service Oriented Architecture for Deep Space Network using the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) for Asynchronous Message Transfer and the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) for UI development.

Operational Risk Management for Healthcare Services

Dec 2019

Created statistical dataset and reports of top medical centers in various cities of USA including patient review data. Implemented Machine Learning model for risk assessment, decision making & executing controlled solutions in Operational Risk Management. In the first phase of the project we collected data of top health care centers present in various cities of the USA. Later phase of the project includes a collection of patient reviews submitted about those health care centers. Dataset of reviews includes reviews of google, yelp, and HealthGrades.

Classification of Users based on their Myers-Briggs Personality Type

Oct 2019

Generated a Neural Network based deep learning model for multiclass classification in Python. Pre-trained LSTM models classify text into 1 of 16 classes based upon Myers-Briggs personality type of its author with 72% precision.

Implementation of KNN model for heart disease predition in Python. Key points in implementation : F1 Score, Precision, Recall, Normalization, Minmax Scaling, KNN Classifier, etc

Implemented different heuristic and non-heuristic path finding algorithms in Artificial Intelligence . Compared overall performance of algorithms in finding shortest path from source to destination avoiding obstacles.

Implementation of Linear Regression from scratch in Python for Wine Quality Prediction. Implementation includes: Hyperparameter Tuning, Linear Regression, Mean Squared Error, etc

Developed modules for Data Preprocessing and review Classification using Regular Expressions and NLTK in python. Web application developed in Django for real time Information Retrieval collects data from 3 separate E-commerce platforms. As a group of 4 students we performed Sentiment Analysis using Multinomial Naive Bayes and Recurrent Neural Network.

Electron Microscope Resource Management Software

May 2015

Assigned role of Individual developer at scientific research organization with oversight from project leader. Published an intranet hosted application to run scheduler for management of investment heavy technology of Electron Microscope at CSIR, Pune.

Won first prize for inventing a game as part of a 2-member team at startup weekend by Google at Thoughtworks, Pune. Designed a module in Java for space shuttle traveling across asteroid belt made ‘Ever Fall’ more interesting and challenging to play.
